How Much Do Fire Door Remedial Works Cost?

Short Answer: £150 - £300 +VAT Per Door

Every fire door is different. A front entrance door may have more hardware on it compared with a communal door, and doors that are a part of critical areas of a large building, such as plant rooms and protective spaces, may have different requirements.

Generally speaking, a well-maintained fire door will cost £100 to £200 annually to remain compliant. However, if a door has been neglected, we may need to change components to meet legal requirements.

Many of the works involved require specialized skill from a competent fire door carpenter. For example, a fire door needs to be cut using specialized tools, as even a slight error can permanently damage your door, leaving you to pay thousands to purchase a new certified doorset.

The cost of easing and adjusting a fire door, installing a new seal or closer, for example, may depend on whether the doorset is a double door, manufactured under a specific scheme like BM TRADA, or requires upgrading from outdated compliance.
